Sole2Soul Yoga follows the (W)Holistic Yoga approach. Holistic Yoga is derived from various traditions and contemporary arts, and our classes follows a few basic principles to make a balanced and whole yoga class, including meditation, intention/ mantra, pranayama (breathing exercises), and asana (yoga postures). It considers that each body is unique and ever-changing, and influenced by age and ability. A one-size-fits–all approach is not in alignment with individual needs — emotions, feelings, life phases, seasonal changes, energy and hormonal changes impact the body, and therefore the mind and spirit.
Merging breath, balance, flexibility and strength, students learn self-healing techniques and find depth in their practice through body awareness and connection with postural awareness and body alignment emphasised at all times. This generates a body/brain connection ‘storing’ mindful movement in the body creating the foundation for a healthy long term and enduring relationship with the whole body.
By developing mindful awareness of the entire body — physical, emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual — the WHOLE/HOLISTIC body comes together and can function and thrive in a beautiful flow of movement and interaction — an ongoing relationship that grows and flows, creating a life of purpose and contentment in synergy with the inner and outer worlds and all the elements that constitute the universe and our beings.
